The line "stuff happens" is credited to former U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld as violence and chaos spread throughout the streets of Baghdad following the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Stuff Happens is also the title of British playwright David Hare's revealing expose of the inner workings of political power in the weeks leading up to the American assault on Saddam Hussein's forces.
