Nestled in one of Toronto's most exclusive neighbourhoods, Casa Loma remains one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. Finished in 1914, wealthy financier Henry Pellatt's luxurious castle (on Spadina Rd. just north of Davenport Rd.) is home to exquisite suites, hidden passageways, secret tunnels, elegant towers, functional stables and beautiful gardens. Don't forget to ask about the informative self-guided audio tours which are available in eight languages. And to celebrate the Christmas season, Casa Loma and The Toronto Star present two special shows just for the kids:
- Storybook Magic - Inspired by famous children's storybooks like Aladdin and Pinocchio, award-winning magician Lawrence LaRouche and Majinx present a dazzling world of spectacular illusions that bring these classic stories to life
- Storytelling - Come to the Conservatory to hear an exciting retelling of J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan - a mischievous boy who refuses to grow up. Children are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite character from the story
Both of the above shows are included with regular admission prices. These special performances run from November 30, 2009 to January 3, 2010. Casa Loma will be closed at 1 pm on December 24 and all day on December 25.
Ontario Teacher Discount: Ontario certified teachers who present their OCT card (or mention it when ordering by phone) are eligible for a 20% discount on regular admission prices at Casa Loma.
