Culture Days in Toronto! Runs September 28th to the 30th. A Great TOTALLY FREE Event!

The third annual Culture Days weekend will take place September 28th to the 30th, and will feature thousands of free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to discover the world of artists, historians, architects, curators, designers and other creative people within their communities.

Culture Days was created in 2010 as a collaborative, coast-to-coast volunteer movement to raise awareness and participation of Canadians in the field of arts and culture.

Culture Days activities are displayed on the official event website at culturedays.ca, but check back often as new activities are being added every day. All Culture Days activities must meet the following basic criteria: a free event, open to the public, that involves audience participation or reveals a behind-the-scenes aspect to give the public a better understanding of the inner world of arts and culture.

In order to access a comprehensive summary of activities scheduled for your neighbourhood, simply go to the "Find Activities" section of the Culture Days website (http://www.culturedays.ca/en/2012-activities) and type in your postal code before clicking on "View Results Listing." In the Toronto area, activities include workshops on Chinese calligraphy, wire sculpture and weaving, modern guitar, Korean dance and drum, belly dancing, samba drumming, film making and ballet, as well as free admission to several museums and galleries. Air Canada SALE EXTENDED: 50% Off Flights Promo Codes for Travel until March 31, 2012! Book by November 7th (New Extended Date).

Well it looks like Air Canada is finally in the mood to try and match some competitive offers from Porter Airlines, see the earlier 50% of ALL FLIGHTS Porter Promotion page here.

The Air Canada Deal on the surface appears equally as attractive as the Porter Airlines deal, with one notable exception: Air Canada's 50% off sale has a black-out period during the peak Christmas 2011 and New-Year periods (almost a month long, the blackout is in effect December 16th 2011 to January 11th, 2012). The Porter Promotion mentioned in the above paragraph, doesn't appear to black-out this whole period, offering consumers some opportunity to save during Christmas and into early 2012.

There are two Air Canada promotion codes, one for Eastern Canada and the Other for a few U.S. short-haul destinations (basically matching Porter Airline's most popular destination footprint):

Canadian travellers love the competition, but it would be truly great if Air Canada showed a little more creativity than just copying many of the discounts offered by Porter Airlines.  Just imagine how much more of the country and world Canadians could see if Air Canada had some true national domestic competition plus real international competition; instead of using the same discount matching tactics that drove CP Air/Canadian Airlines into financial trouble in the 1990s.  It must be nice to sit on Mr. Milton's millions, while the Canadian public and most of Air Canada's line-staff have seen little, if any, real-world benefits.
